Scrap Quilt: Done!!

Okay, so I might have cut it down to the line just a bit, but it is 11:40 pm my time and I finally got the last stitches in my scrap quilt top!

Ta da!!!!

The picture is a little dark, but it's dark outside and I wanted to prove it was done, so this is what I get.  I'll have to take better ones in the daylight tomorrow.  I decided to change up my pattern a bit as I went along, but I really do like how it turned out.  The bad news is that about an hour ago my machine started making some odd clanking noises from the bottom.  It is still working and I was able to get the last border strip on, but I'm afraid it might be due for a tune-up...not good since I still have an ugly fabric challenge due in two weeks.  (I've been working hard on that one and will post updates soon.)  I'll tear my machine open tomorrow and see if I can pinpoint the noise.  Now it's off to get some much needed sleep before I have to get up and go to work tomorrow.  Unlike some people, I'm not as lucky as you all and get to take whole weeks off of work just to stay home and sew.  I'm so jealous, but I do like my job...just not as much as quilting.

  1. Beautiful! I love the half-blocks as borders, it really adds interest. I'm sorry to hear your machine isn't feeling well, so maybe it's better you don't have the whole week off to quilt? (To maybe make you feel less jealous, I went 3 years with almost no time off - a day here, a day there - because the project I was working on (and my coworkers) wouldn't allow it. Now it's my turn!) You deserve a good night's rest after that marathon - I hope you weren't up having nightmares instead!

  2. Oooh! Pretty! The border really pulls it all together. I hope your machine isn't too sick and I'm glad you got this done before it fell ill. -Joanne

  8. I think it's a wonderful quilt!! I don't have the magazine, so I will have to try and find, or make up, a pattern that looks like that;) I still have tons of scraps that would go great in a pattern like this;)
    Great Quilt!!
    Happy Quilting!!
